Job Description:

BMC is looking for Events Manager with virtual event experience to coordinate the scheduling and management of virtual events hosted on the proprietary BMC Virtual Campus platform. These events range from sales meetings and executive briefings with a relatively small number of attendees to company meetings and user conferences with 3000+ live attendees. This role requires superior project management, time management, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills. The candidate should be extremely detail-oriented and have hands-on experience in planning, producing, and promoting virtual events.

Job Responsibilities/Duties

  • Serve as central coordinator for virtual events ranging from 3 to 5000 attendees for the BMC Events team
  • Monitor the virtual event schedule, and work with Events leadership to ensure sufficient staff coverage
  • Create, customize, and configure virtual event registration pages
  • Upload content and create custom virtual meeting layouts and event flows
  • Provide expert knowledge and training to other BMC functions to enable self-service
  • Support the development of materials such as Best Practices, FAQs, and training slides to support meeting hosts, speakers, and event support staff
  • Schedule and execute rehearsals in advance of high-priority live events to ensure all parties are prepared for success
  • Occasionally serve as event host and/or moderator during the rehearsal and/or live event, as needed
  • Offer assistance and guidance with presenter connection issues, as well as basic technical support during an event
  • Generate and download reports: registrant, attendee, polling responses, and Q&A
  • Process and retrieve webinar recordings
  • Research and connect with external networks to stay on top of trends and new tools in the virtual event space, bringing those key learnings and recommendations back to Senior Leadership
  • Will report to the Director of Corporate Events
  • May be needed to support some physical events as needed


  • Bachelor’s degree in Communication or similar field preferred
  • 2-4 years of relevant event management experience within the software industry
  • High-energy individual with the ability to calmly trouble shoot issues accordingly during a live event and control the attendee experience
  • Ability to remain calm, collected, organized and be a leader in virtual events across BMC
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience using virtual event platforms such as Zoom, AdobeConnect and Webex at minimum
  • Proficient in MS Office
