The Trade Show/Event Marketing Manager is responsible for the execution and logistics of an annual trade show plan that involves all aspects of exhibitions—budget, execution, booth design, demo development, setup/teardown, and collaboration with our Team and custom exhibit house provider. This position will report to the Performance Marketing Director. This professional will engage in close and constant collaboration with the CEO, Sales Industry Leaders, Product Managers and Sales Engineers with regard to timeline, products, and goal of each show.

Job Responsibilities

  • Leads the development and execution of trade shows and events to promote the ifm brand and our sensor solutions. Ensures the trade show’s objectives, goals, and target audience align with company marketing goals. Sets the overall budget.
  • Keeps in touch of evolving marketing and industry trends and consults with Product Marketing and Sales Team Managers to recommend best trade show booth to exhibit and determine goals. Develops an annual trade show plan and a long-term three-year strategy.
  • Annually, for each show, organizes and creates a master schedule for each show; collaborates with Industry Leaders and Product Managers and schedules meetings as needed for each aspect of the show; handles action items, tracks progress and distributes meeting minutes keeping everyone on track. Works with the Industry Leaders to determine the right staff for booth duty attendees.
  • Prior to each show, works with the exhibit house on the strategic layout of each show, and confirms that logistics of installation as well as dismantling, freight, storage, electrical, lead retrieval etc. will happen efficiently prior to the start of the show.
  • Customizes and oversees the layout of the exhibit for each event; has a creative eye for contemporary booth design; may secure appropriate displays from ifm global inventory or oversee the building of demos; aware of latest technologies used in venues such as video or digital walls, and recommends eye-catching additions to enhance the exhibit booth with the goal of conveying the “why” of ifm products.
  • Directs all aspects during an event; assures that in-booth presentations go smoothly, demos work properly, and customer flow is constant and comfortable. Oversees smooth teardown.
  • Post show, evaluates KPIs for trade show/event marketing campaign effectiveness (e.g. analyzing sales leads, conversions and costs to understand most effective marketing strategies).
  • Travel to trade shows and event required (approximately 25% travel).

Candidate Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree required.
  • 5 to 7 years’ experience in B2B Marketing and managing large-scale events/trade shows.
  • Passion for marketing and deep understanding of latest trends in digital, social media, and event marketing for lead generation.
  • Strategic, creative thinker, able to turn ideas into effective marketing campaigns.
  • Ability to navigate and use a variety of modern marketing platforms, and to adapt to new advancements in technology.
  • Manages and prioritizes multiple, on-going, competing projects and deadlines.
  • Personal innate drive for action orientation and success.
  • Networking abilities, negotiation skills, time management, problem-solving, attention to details.
  • Demonstrates professional demeanor.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
