Job Description:

The AWS Startup Lofts, part of the AWS Startup Marketing Program team, are virtual and in-person incubator-like spaces where startup founders can gain access to events and workshops, meet 1:1 with experts, utilize our co-working spaces, collaboration rooms, podcast equipment, and build their startup while leveraging AWS resources all at no cost.

We are looking for an experienced marketing and operations manger who will own the end-to-end marketing and operations of both our Startup Lofts virtual platform and our physical Startup Lofts in Soho – New York City and San Francisco. This position will be based in NYC and relocation is covered.

You’ll work and partner with local startup accelerators, seed funds, AWS customers, and directly engage with startup founders who come to the Loft to solve some of their biggest challenges. Internally, you’ll partner with the social team and demand generation to build plans that promote and drive founders to AWS Lofts, and you’ll partner with finance, the real estate team, and the facilities team to ensure smooth daily operations of the physical Lofts.

The ideal candidate is self-directed, hands-on, comfortable dealing with ambiguity in a fast-paced and ever-changing startup environment, has the ability to look around all corners and see things others may not, is operationally and data focused, and acts to explore their curiosity on marketing strategies that build community, deliver an impactful experience for in-person and online visitors, and help startups accelerate their businesses on AWS.

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Owns and manages the multi-million dollar global Loft budget, with weekly management and operations analysis.
  • Owns monthly/quarterly reporting to business leaders to include updates on events, traffic, lead conversion, and overall Lofts outcome measurement.
  • Owns and executes the AWS Loft marketing strategy and responsible for driving demand and leads to the physical and online sites.
  • Ensures all facilities are operated and maintained in alignment with established standards and procedures. Further develops, and in some cases, improve the standards and procedures as business and customer needs evolve.
  • Provides strategic direction to facilities management teams (direct reports and outsourced vendor teams) who oversee facilities operations of the physical spaces.
  • Mentors, develops, and coaches a team of facilities and event managers to strengthen their leadership and overall bar raising execution.
  • Works cross-functionally with global field Loft teams to report on virtual Loft activities and feature enhancements
  • Travel 20% of the time (NYC-SFO-SEA).

Basic Qualifications

  • 4+ years experience with marketing programs such as email marketing, lead management, execution of marketing events, or workshops
  • 4+ years of experience using Microsoft Excel, Salesforce, Marketo, Tableau, and/or similar systems,
  • Experience in the project management and onboarding of online platforms, learning management systems, web sites, or similar online systems/platforms.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, communications, or relevant field of study.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 4+ years of experience in physical space operations with fluency in how co-working/incubator spaces function.
  • Experience in developing, implementing and managing a number of scalable programs and mechanisms that solve past blockers.
  • Experience in building communication plans, launch plans, roadmaps, and other written business documentations with the ability to influence others through written documentation and speaking engagements.
  • Experience in managing large budgets along with managing people, which includes vendor management, hiring, opening POs, forecasting, and reconciliation.
  • Motivated self-manager who thrives on figuring out what to do and making it happen, often in complex and ambiguous environments.
  • Ability to independently remove blockers and make decisions quickly and autonomously.
  • Operational savviness and the ability to prioritize work on multiple projects simultaneously.
