Amazon is looking for a unique marketing leader with the marketing intuition, creative vision, and executional capability to be responsible for driving customer awareness and engagement for foundational Amazon retail events that deliver value, convenience and selection. As Sr. Marketing Manager, this role drives the cross-channel go-to-market plans for retail events such as Prime Day, Holiday, Back to School, Mother’s Day, etc. As our ideal candidate, you bring a track record of developing, managing and optimizing large-scale cross-channel marketing campaigns. You are a superb collaborator and excel at managing and influencing broad stakeholder groups. In particular, this role will:

  • Assess visit and purchase behavior trends by customer segment in order to expose seasonal shopping behavior opportunities that can be leveraged to drive the retail event;
  • Work closely with retail marketing and customer insights teams to understand historic customer buying behaviors and forward-looking opportunities to leverage new products/news/onsite experiences/marketing plans, etc.;
  • Recommend and gain alignment on message strategy for the retail event;
  • Collaborate with channel teams – including mass advertising, PR, onsite and automated marketing (search, automated social, outbound, associates, onsite publishing, etc.) – to develop cross-channel, cross-category marketing plans;
  • Ensure pre- and post-event research is in place that to expose customer behavior insights that can inform future onsite and offsite marketing; and
  • Primarily be focused on the US, but coordinate with and regularly share learnings and best practices with global marketing counterparts.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree, ideally in an applicable discipline such as Business or Marketing
  • 5+ years of marketing experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Retail, technology and/or mobile experience
  • Track of record of developing, managing and optimizing large-scale cross-channel marketing campaigns
  • Ability to partner cross-functionally, lead through influence, and work with a wide range of stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability to operate both strategically and tactically in fast-paced, global environments
  • Excellent written communication skills; capable of articulating both strategic recommendations and detailed tactical plans
  • Advanced degree (MBA or other applicable advanced degree)
  • Ability to work on a diverse team or with a diverse range of coworkers
