As the Sr Events MARCOM Manager, you will work cross functionally with Product Marketing, Integrated Marketing, Social & PR Teams, GDC team and the ESC team across Microsoft to develop specific audience’s event marketing strategy and manage the promotion of highly-visible first partner events (e.g. Build, Ignite, Inspire)

The Sr Events MARCOM Manager will play a foundational role on the ESC MARCOM team by helping to scale and execute our existing digital events and re-create what our in-person event programs will look like as we re-enter a new world post Covid. Your responsibility as the events marketing expert will include developing the event’s marketing and promotional plans as well as having a keen eye on operationally-focused event components that are in-person and/or virtual. (e.g. digital venue, registrations, attendee comms and ticket sales).

Responsibilities

  • Create comprehensive event project plans, conduct regular checkpoints with deliverable owners, escalate risks and challenges appropriately and ensure event is delivered on time and on budget
  • Manage agency relationships to execute demand gen for the events at the highest level
  • Work with GDC team to create event emails, landing pages and demand generation activities to achieve event goals
  • Work with the Tools team within ESC to deliver the full events website
  • Work with the PR and Social team to create a social strategy to achieve event goals
  • Build processes for repeatability and scalability of event marketing activities
  • Think big to deliver new ideas and creative approaches to constantly improve the customer experience, while possessing ability to deliver on the tactical details
  • Deliver post event reports with data-driven analysis including attendee feedback, goal attainment, and recommendations for future event improvements
  • Drive and deliver best practice documents and process improvement documents
  • Influence and align with key stakeholders across the field on event marketing strategies

Managed budgets and timelines. Identify which events maximize ROI and budget

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 5-10 years of demand generation of growth marketing experience
  • Superior oral and written communication skills with an innate attention to detail while executing digital events, email campaigns and event-based initiatives
  • Take the initiative to properly plan and manage campaigns and continuously test different data-driven approaches with a can-do attitude
  • Ability to work cross-functionally, especially with sales and marketing teams
  • A willingness to travel (as needed), and ability to work independently and autonomously
