Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking an experienced Senior Event Content to help the content strategy, development and execution for a large corporate event.

In this role, your primary focus is to assist in the development of high quality content at a largescale cloud computing educational event. You will work with a mix of product managers, product managers, solutions architects, and business developers to create the content bill of materials for the event. You will manage the content process from start to finish including, reviewing the space plans, strategizing the session types, and determining the selection of session content. You work with the broader event content team to define goals and timelines, ensure quality control of content, and manage delivery of the content bill of materials.

Our ideal candidate is a highly motivated and extremely organized individual with experience complex with multiple across the globe. You utilize your attention to detail, your experience in and management, and your excellent written communication skills to ensure high quality results.

The ideal candidate has 6+ years of experience working in event , preferably on high user conferences. This role is open to seating at any US-based AWS corporate office. Relocation assistance to one of these locations from within the US only.

A day in the life

This role will work with a variety of content , primarily product , to translate the product into tracks and then into breakout sessions. This person will travel to site inspections and will be on-site to all elements of event content delivery.

This role sits within the AWS Event Content team, which is a part of the AWS Event organization.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Work directly with content owners to identify deliverables and deadlines, communicate expectations, and ensure results
  • Coordinate, , and run all stakeholder team meetings; documenting and distributing meeting notes and action items
  • Assist with event logistics related to sessions, including: session room allocation, agenda management, and definition of requirements for room set-up, and A/V
  • Supervise speaker management and provide on-site speaker support
  • Manage with a team the content management system, including session scheduling
  • Distribute regular reports on event deliverables and status updates
  • Work with production vendors to define pre-event, onsite, and post-events needs and actions
  • Travel: Post-Covid primarily domestic

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years’ experience in related areas of program/project management, event management, content management, or marketing
  • A career path that demonstrates increasing levels of responsibility in event, project and/or program management with proven success delivering operational excellence
  • Experience analyzing quantitative and qualitative data and metrics to communicate solutions to business and technical problems
  • History of working independently with industry tools, such as SalesForce, Tableau, Cvent, EventPoint, and FreshDesk, etc.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, communications, or relevant field of study OR 4+ additional years’ experience in event marketing or management

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working on large scale (7k+ attendee) .
  • Experience in B2B technology products or services.
  • Experience in overall management with respect to creating and delivering high quality content, primarily in the form of breakout sessions, chalk talks, hand’s on labs, etc.
  • A career path that demonstrates increasing levels of responsibility and proven success delivering measurable results.
  • Ability to manage time and deliver on multiple priorities to execute high quality deliverables.
  • History of defining content and flawlessly executing.
  • Strategic thinker who can take broad visions and concepts and develop structured plans, actions and measurable metrics and then execute on those plans
  • Decisive, action-oriented, and able to motivate, inspire, and lead cross-functional teams in different geographies and business units.
  • A strong and excellent communicator who can drive consensus and articulate recommendations and tradeoffs to key stakeholders.
  • Ambitious self-starter with demonstrated ability and willingness to roll up sleeves and execute to get the job done
  • Experience working in a fast-paced and highly cross-functional organization.
  • Proven knowledge of industry tools, such as Salesforce, Tableau, , Cvent, EventPoint, and FreshDesk, etc.

The base pay range for this position in Colorado is $76k -134k per year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. A sign-on bonus and restricted stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
