Senior Manager, Marketing Events – Pursuit

Job Description:

As Pursuit’s Senior Manager, Marketing Events, you will report to our Chief Creative Officer, and own the Pursuit calendar of internal and external events. You will be tasked with elevating our current events strategy to directly drive lead generation, brand awareness, and partner retention, working cross-functionally to ensure event content, timing and branding meets all stakeholder needs. This role is critical in helping us scale our revenue, and thus impact the greater New York City community.

As a Senior Manager, Marketing Events, you will:

  • Understand target stakeholders across our One Big Team (funders, employers, Fellows) and work across organization to develop an event strategy that supports business goals
  • Manage key existing events, such as the Pursuit Gong Ceremony, fundraising events, etc
  • Research opportunities that align with our brand and partnership/fundraising goals
  • Develop new event concepts and themes
  • Manage marketing materials and campaign components, including digital, social, etc
  • Oversee execution of events, ensuring alignment with objectives and overall event strategy, and remaining within budget
  • Build strong relationships with external partners and event collaborators
  • Establish and maintain relationships with vendors and venues

What you need to be considered for Senior Manager, Marketing Events role:

  • 5-7+ years of experience in designing, coordinating, executing, and recapping high profile digital and in-person events
  • Great organizational skills with experience of working on multiple events concurrently, excellent time management and prioritization skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and comfort working with VIP’s
  • A proactive approach with a willingness to show initiative, problem-solve and take responsibility
  • Experience managing event staff, agencies, vendors, and freelancers
  • Proven project management experience, mitigating risks, and effectively managing timelines and event budget

Where you’ll work:

Hybrid: 2 days a week in our HQ in Long Island City and 3 days wherever you work best.

Compensation: $100,000-$120,000

The range above is for the expectations as laid out in the job description, however we are often open to a wide variety of profiles, and recognize that the person we hire may be less experienced (or more senior) than this job description as posted. If that ends up being the case, the updated salary range will be communicated with you as a candidate.
