Job Description:

Senior Events Manager position is key to Trimble Transportation’s success and requires a highly organized, creative, detail oriented and motivated person to serve as lead for event planning, management, production and sponsorship.

Trimble Transportation events include our annual Insight Tech Conference and Expo and numerous trade show exhibitions throughout the year. The Senior Events Manager must be able to anticipate project needs, discern work priorities, and meet deadlines. This individual must have a passion for special event management, provide outstanding communication to our Trimble staff, vendors and overall Trimble community, be an enthusiastic professional, and be capable of building strong and positive relationships with partners. This position reports directly to the Vice President of Marketing and will be responsible for managing a small team of event and marketing professionals.


PRIMARY: Strong background in all facets of large conference, convention and expo planning and contract negotiation including overall logistics planning team lead.

  • Facilitate the logistical planning and successful execution of a large 2,000 attendee, multi-faceted conference.
  • Determine theme, key messages, objectives and success metrics as guiding principles for events.
  • Develop and recommend the budget, marketing plans, objectives and manage within those approved plans.
  • Manage events as a campaign rather than a single event – set a communication plan, design plan, key messages and strategies.
  • Monitors promotional schedule and registration goals for events, working with marketing staff to ensure effective, timely promotion.
  • Formulate measurement practices and success metrics; assist with lead flow and reporting
  • Coach and counsel Trimble colleagues to reflect company service standards and procedures.
  • Facilitate and manage collaboration across business sectors to continue a business culture of sharing and leveraging best practices.

  • Detail-oriented with the ability, drive and desire to develop, manage and execute highly successful events
  • Experience influencing team members that are not direct reports; especially members that are dispersed geographically
  • Experience managing agencies, freelancers and/or contractor talent
  • Experience managing budgets and contracts
  • Resourceful and well connected internally but not afraid to ask the right questions to uncover big ideas
  • Expert at keeping projects on time with reliable deliverability
  • Strong communication, writing, and editorial skills
  • Open-minded and able to synthesize multiple inputs


  • 7+ years of proven experience managing complex events; both in-person and virtual
  • Experience working with teams that are dispersed geographically
  • Experience managing events from beginning to end
  • Experience managing budgets and contracts independently
  • Expert at keeping projects on time with reliable deliverability
  • Travel to investigate event venues and manage in-person events.

Preferred Skills

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, similar field or equivalent experience
  • Experience managing agencies, freelancers and/or contractor talent
  • Google Workspace (Sheets, Slides, Drive, Docs)
