Your Role and Responsibilities

IBM Quantum is hiring an Events Manager to help deepen our partner relationships in the IBM Quantum Network. In this role, you must have a passion for technology and partner networking. You will act as a dot connector across internal and external stakeholders and will be given flexibility to create meaningful experiences for partners and the team.

You will need solid organizational skills, project management skills, and the ability to prioritize multiple projects and tasks. The ideal candidate will be proactive and demonstrate initiative, along with strong facilitation, interpersonal skills, and great communication. You will be given significant autonomy and flexibility in the performance of your role and are expected to make meaningful contributions to our business and partners’ success.

Preferred Work locations: Any Location in the US with willingness to travel up to 60%

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Experience planning, producing, and executing engaging events in both a face-to-face or virtual space (1-3 years)
  • Familiarity with virtual events and communication platforms (Slack, Discord, etc.) (1-3 years)
  • Experience working cross-functionally with logistical planning, event production, and long-term goal setting (1-3 years)
  • Experience in project management, including defining scope, time management, stakeholder management, risk management, budget management, and determination to meet deadlines
  • Excitement to work with a wide range of partners and stakeholders world-wide
  • Demonstrated strong client-management skills
  • Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with a global team
  • Exceptional organizational, presentation, and communication skills, both verbal and written

  • Background in community building & engagement
  • Experience building developer or research communities through in-person or digital experiences
