The Account Manager’s core purpose of the role is to provide guidance and education to key stakeholders, on Global Meetings & Events Policy, regional travel polices and strategic initiatives both TME and regional goals and objectives. In addition, this role will be responsible for supporting US/Canada Operational Manager to drive solutions on identified service gaps and inefficiencies through process improvements and standard operating procedures. This role will lead projects and will be responsible for developing the strategic need to support the business.

In addition:

  • Conduct quarterly business reviews with key stakeholders highlighting TME business objectives, meeting spend, compliance to policy, market industry implications impacting meeting costs, maximize spend under management and other key metrics
  • Liaise with US/Canada Operations Manager to identify strategic gaps, inefficiencies and process improvements
  • Guide and educate stakeholders on opportunities to reduce expenditure for both non client and client related travel and hilight and escalate non-compliance and out of governance
  • Collaborate with various TME teams to develop and recommend strategies for project execution and implementation of innovative and automated solutions designed to enhance the overall user experience and drive profitability across all programs.
  • Collaborate with TME analytics team to create comprehensive reporting and dashboards to share with the team and stakeholders that meet the global strategy and business objectives
  • Share best practices with equivalent role holders in other Areas
  • Co-manages local external supplier relationships with other TME resources
  • Using TME Guidelines and Procedures, this position will identify strategic gaps, provide policy recommendations, support cost reduction initiatives and drive efficiencies in spend, savings and supplier financial agreements, including fees, commissions and value adds
  • Stay abreast of global TME strategy and external industry changes
  • Work as part of a team and understand the impact of actions on the overall team
  • Work independently and at times to tight deadlines as well as interface with EY leadership and continuously leverage strong working relationships with key internal and external constituents across EY
  • Drive TME strategies and influence stakeholders by using data analytics
  • Travel required 10%; global travel maybe required

Skills And Attributes For Success

  • Understanding of strategic trends in the Travel, Meetings & Events industry, with an ability to develop and implement appropriate operational strategies
  • Knowledge of the US/Canada regions

  • Ability to communicate to, challenge and persuade employees and internal stakeholders and external suppliers at all levels

  • Gathers client feedback to provide credible solutions and high-quality deliverables
  • Moderate to high risk decision making with little to no supervision
  • Receive supervision from North America Strategic TME Program and Engagement Leader
  • When leading a TME project, responsible for developing strategy, setting objectives and deadlines and providing progress reports

To qualify for the role you must have

  • Advanced degree in a related discipline or a minimum of 10 years’ business experience in Travel and/or Event Management in a client facing role
  • Knowledge of the marketplace and industry trends
  • Strong analytical skills, commitment to quality, adaptability, change management, self-motivation and teamwork
  • Demonstrates executive prescence, establishes credibility quickly with the ability to communicate, challenge and persuade internal stakeholders at all levels
  • Customer service focused and excellent relationship management
