Job Description:
HP-Boise is a thriving technology, marketing, support and business development site for HP Inc. The HP Boise Site Leadership team is working on increasing Employee Engagement rates among all organizations across the HP Boise site. More than 1,300 employees, supporting more than 10 different HP Business Units, require and deserve outstanding communications and event leadership.
Within the Communications department, the position involves the following tasks regarding Internal Communications and Event Coordination:
- Support Local Business Impact Networks (BINs)
- Communications and events.
- Assist in Diversity activities with local and national societies as prioritized.
- Community engagement activities
- Support organization of site events such as charity campaigns, celebrations, media events, etc…
- Support local community professional and non-profit groups including Boise Site Council philanthropic budget disbursement and printing needs via Oasis capabilities.
- Site Internal Communications:
- Review internal communication current plan / processes and propose areas for improvement.
- Maintain a Site intranet web page, prepare monthly news communications, campaigns and newsletters using communications tools including web pages, newsletters, email and slide presentations shared to large audiences.
- Partner with Human Resources to provide ready access to customized onboarding resources for new hires and interns.
- Manage Site services mailbox and communications.
- Help in the PR plan regarding certain site activities with the PR agency, targeted to improve HP’s brand reputation, external networking and talent attraction.
- Support University/School and Government Official visits: presentation and tours
- Support sponsorships’ management
- Event Coordination
- Provide leadership in planning 4-12 site-wide events each year. Some of these are held on campus, and some require partnering with Corporate Communications for off-site events.
The candidate must have the ability to multitask, flexibility to adapt to a fast-paced environment, demonstrated excellent communication skills – both written and verbal. The candidate must prove to be proactive, highly organized and be self-directed and be capable of working independently, as a leader and as part of a team.
Education and Experience
- Passion for communications and the overall employee experience.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Advertising, PR, Journalism, Communications, Marketing, or related field
- 3-5 years of professional work experience
- Demonstrated ability to lead volunteers or teams to achieve significant results.
- Knowledge of Microsoft office package is essential.
