Job Description:

As the Food and Event Manager, you are always focused on hospitality. You should be well organized and possess a sound knowledge of event management. You will manage events from start to finish. Ability to work with internal and external teams and partners. Excellent communication and attention to detail skills are vital to this role, as our success depends on meeting our clients ’ tailored requirements.

Responsible for coordinating Meetings and Events, planning menus, selecting caterers and decorating for events. Manage the catered lunch and Snack programs and develop themes around special monthly events. Calculate/Manage budgets and ensure they are adhered to.

Responsibilities

  • Manage Corporate and/or Facilities Events, Meetings, Trainings, Lunch and Snack Programs.
  • Manage set ups, teardowns and follow ups for events.
  • Coordinate event logistics with IT when needed.
  • Meet with stakeholders to gain an understanding of the events purpose and goals, make recommendations as appropriate for theme, caterer, setup, décor.
  • Develop, manage budgets and contracts with vendors. Track spending and implement cost savings initiatives.
  • Manage all vendor relationships, ensuring work is being performed to scope, conduct regular review of services.
  • Order / Purchase all food, snacks, meeting, and event related items.
  • Other duties as required

Required Skills/Education/Experience

  • 3-5 years in hospitality role, and/or direct food and event services experience
  • Knowledge of food quality Standards, eye for décor and aesthetics
  • Ability to always lead with the customer in mind, comfortable speaking with staff at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to interact with employees at all levels of the organization
  • Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to stay cool under pressure, and juggle multiple events simultaneously
  • Experience using facilities ticket management tools; Microsoft Office Suite
  • Good knowledge of food preparation; catering; aesthetics of events/food presentations
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize, take initiative with various projects from various groups.
  • High attention to detail, ability to take initiative
  • Must be reliable and work independently
