Job Description:
Asmodee is seeking a Global Events Director to lead an international team in the management of Asmodee’s presence at international events including board game conventions and major business to business events. A successful candidate will be an excellent leader, rate highly in execution and organization, and display the ability to maintain an appropriate event budget. The position is based in the US and will report to the Global Publishing Marketing Director located in France.
Essential Functions
Event planning: Manage events from conception to wrap-up and final reconciliation, including budget
- Coordinate with key internal stakeholders to define project scope, timeline, and strategy including defining clear roles and responsibilities for all involved stakeholders;
- Determine and obtain appropriate internal and external resources;
- Organize event kick-off and follow-up meetings with required parties;
- Manage vendor partner relationships, communication, and contracts;
- Work with marketing department on collateral communications and development – theme, concept, design, and implementation;
- Partner with studios to ensure event experiences satisfy desired outcomes;
- Supervise team to execute vision on time and within established budget;
- Provide on-site event execution including staff assignments/management (demo staff), venue and supplier management, and implementation of event logistics;
- Evaluate event performance and competitive field to identify potential improvement opportunities;
- Report to key stakeholders the outcomes of the event; and
- Other duties as the position requires.
Leadership: Develop and manage international team to successfully deliver desired event outcomes
- Recruit, select, and train international team including team members and team leads;
- Assist team in developing professional goals and identify growth opportunities;
- Delegate tasks efficiently for maximum team output; and
- Communicate evolving strategies to the team so they can increase their impact; and
- Provide regular and ongoing feedback on job performance including recommended ways to improve performance.
Education/Experience
- Minimum 8-12 years experience in events planning and organization, board game or entertainment industry preferred;
- At least five (5) years managing a team and supervising temporary event staff; and
- Knowledge of Powerpoint, Excel, In Design.
Minimum Qualifications
- Ability to understand and positively contribute to Company objectives
- Excellent interpersonal skills and high level of professionalism;
- Ability to work in an international / multi-cultural environment;
- Ability to accomplish projects with little supervision;
- Ability to travel to all events; and
- On event days, ability to spend 10+ hours engaging in physical activity including lifting and moving items of up to 50 pounds, walking long distances, and standing on your feet for hours at a time.
