The Red Hat Public Sector field marketing team is looking for an enthusiastic and highly organized Events Marketing Manager to join us in Tysons Corner, VA. In this role, you will produce brand experiences through tradeshow booths and industry events from conception to completion. You’ll need to be a thorough and technically capable marketing professional who can work cross-functionally in the development and management of event programs. You’ll work closely with the Federal, State, and Local Government and Education (SLED) sales organizations and field marketing managers to develop the annual tradeshow strategy that will align with the strategic goals and the business plan of each team. You’ll need to be able to provide outstanding customer service and organize memorable events that will meet the intended goals and expectations both creatively and consistently. You’ll also need to be able to work well within time limits to plan, resource, and oversee the events. As an Events Marketing Manager, you’ll need to have the ability to handle multiple priorities, as this role will involve overseeing multiple event planning cycles at one time. You’ll be responsible for leading all event marketing plans, logistics, project deliverables, activities, and marketing communications for a series of public sector events throughout the year. Primary Job Responsibilities

  • Lead and assist with the planning and implementation of third-party industry tradeshows and events hosted within the public sector market; this will include responsibilities like pre-event discovery and planning, booth selection and messaging, speaking engagements, meeting coordination, event promotion, printing and shipping, budget management, staffing, pre-event promotions, post-event marketing, and reporting
  • Collaborate with the Sales team to develop tradeshow and event strategy to support business plans and bookings targets
  • Manage event budget, including forecasting, procurement process (purchase orders and contracts), processing of payments, and monitoring actuals in the Allocadia budgeting tool
  • Expertly guide pre-event meetings, including assistance and preparation of event planning presentations
  • Establish and maintain good working relationships with third-party logistics companies handling overall implementation
  • Deliver pre and post-marketing tactics, including social media, and email and call campaigns to grow attendance and exposure and guide lead follow-up
  • Build and distribute regular pre-event status reports and post-event trip report
  • Work with the field marketing, sales, business, brand, and content teams to develop targeted messaging, signage, and advertising
  • Be responsible for the ordering of all event swag and collateral
  • When applicable, lead onsite presence, which could include ensuring proper set-up and signage, registration coordination, A/B testing, speaker and meeting management, staff enablement and training, collateral and swag distribution, problem-solving, and managing takedown
  • When applicable, assist with planning and promoting on-site ancillary events

Required Skills

  • 5+ years of experience with planning and implementation of events or tradeshows, preferably in the technology field; public sector market experience is a big plus
  • Ability to see the big picture and meet objectives in all stages of event planning and implementation
  • Ability to conduct market research and gather information
  • Ability to manage diverse groups and multiple projects
  • Detail-oriented with solid organization and communication skills
  • Solid writing skills to produce promotional messaging and website and email copy
  • Positive attitude and commitment to the mission, vision, and cultural values of Red Hat
  • Willingness to travel up to 25%
