Job Description:

The Events Marketing Manager manages marketing events to drive lead generation, increase brand awareness, and support customer retention. With a keen attention to detail, this role focuses on building and managing key relationships with trade shows, associations, and partner organizations to support top-of-funnel growth, thought leadership, and strong customer engagement. To succeed, this role will engage with major players in the government relations, public policy, advocacy, and geopolitical, ESG, and corporate space, and also encourage participation across the FiscalNote organization. The Event Marketing Manager reports to the Director, Brand and Corporate Marketing and works across internal groups to drive collaboration and ensure there is strategic alignment, buy-in, measurement, reporting. In addition, the Events Marketing Manager provides event logistics support to the FiscalNote Executive Institute (FNEI), a community of business leaders brought together to discuss, examine, define and promote best practices and to advance collaboration in mitigating risk and uncertainty. FNEI is run by the Senior Director of Thought Leadership.

Opening up boxes of swag and displaying them beautifully? No problem. Hawling shipments to FedEx to ensure they arrive on time for a conference? You got this. The whole events process is yours to own and you can’t wait to roll up your sleeves and dive in.

What To Expect In This Position

  • Event Logistics:
  • Develop and execute a high-level event plan which includes researching, building and managing a targeted event list across the entire business, and gaining multiple stakeholder buy-in
  • Manage all event logistics for trade shows, virtual events and other marketing events, including managing sponsorships, coordinating with event organizers on event set up, selecting collateral, securing giveaway orders, and managing a variety of vendors, clients and partners
  • Plan and execute niche events, such as dinners and happy hours, by managing logistics such as venue coordination and contracting; invite, registrant, and attendee lists; communications; and registration landing pagesWork closely with the sales team on event staffing, goals, and expectations, including reviewing event pre-briefs and post-briefs Partner with marketing operations team to measure, track, and report on all event initiatives
  • Manage contracts and invoices with partners, vendors and venues
  • Oversee swag and display execution, ordering, shipments, distribution, etc
  • Collaborate across marketing and communications teams to create event deliverables such as promotional ads, signage, and landing pages
  • Track event expenditures to optimize FN budget
  • FiscalNote Executive Institute:
  • Manage event logistics of FiscalNote Executive Institute Events from start to finish, including researching dates, locations, and external partners; building, maintaining, and updating key invite lists; working with speakers, partner organizations, contractors, and event support teams on event coordination; developing Run of Shows and other related event logistics resources to ensure a successful program; and overseeing contracts with vendors and caterers
  • Collaborating with Marketing Operations team on event follow-up, including organizing registration information and attendance for Senior Director of Thought Leadership’s outreach and collaboration with Business Development teams Providing administrative support in strategic outreach with FNEI Advisory Board, including scheduling meetings; coordinating calendar invites; confirming RSVPs for FNEI programs; providing event support for quarterly Board meetings; and keeping track of Board member engagement and contact information.
  • Audience Development:
  • Manage and deploy all post-event outreach, including feedback surveys
  • Track event registrants, provide regular reports on audience metrics and ensure that attendee goals are being met
  • Photograph and videotape events for social promotion (as needed)
  • Partnerships:
  • Secure speaking opportunities at external events like virtual events, webinars, trade shows, podcasts, etc. for key stakeholders in the organization
  • Manage award process across multiple internal stakeholders; submit award nominations for agreed upon awards
  • Maintain a portfolio of marketing and sales memberships across industries, ensure the right memberships are active, work across the organization to manage agreements and ensure dues are paid on time
  • Seek out additional marketing partnership opportunities with external partners

What Sets You Apart

  • 5+ years of proven experience in planning, coordination and execution of events, including large tradeshows and conferences (+300 people), and hosted events (+50 people)
  • Experience in tracking and researching multiple conferences, developing briefs, and managing attendance
  • Experience in supporting public speaker submissions and engagements
  • Excellent organizational skills and proven ability to manage multiple projects, coordinate programs/events, managing through ambiguity to sound execution
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively across teams
  • Ability to problem solve and work under pressure
  • Travel is required
