Events and Marketing Manager – QualSights

Job Description:

This role will report to our Chief Marketing Officer and will be responsible for managing end-to-end coordination of all our industry trade show events as well as our social media content strategy. This is the perfect opportunity for someone who loves to stay organized yet also understands how and when to use their creativity to create an engaging social media strategy. This individual should have a demonstrated history of meticulously managing large scale events from strategy to execution and a solid grasp of social media content strategy.

Core Responsibilities

Event Planning

  • Plan, communicate and maintain overall event calendar in addition to timelines for each individual event
  • Assume ultimate accountability for ensuring cross-functional collaboration for all events, such as shipping, sales and marketing.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with conference organizers, 3rd party vendors and venues
  • Ensure all logistical details are flawlessly managed, such as team hotel reservations, event signage, conference registration, etc… Proactively think of backup plans in the case of emergencies or errors in planning
  • Maintain and continually refine event planning checklists for each individual industry trade show
  • In collaboration with Chief Marketing Officer, lead creative ideation and execution of marketing collateral such as event signage, brochures, floor decals, branded swag, etc…

Social Media Planning

  • Collaborate with Director of Content to plan social media copy, ensuring that our trade shows are prominently featured.
  • Creatively capture visually interesting photography and videography at all trade shows for the purpose of sharing on the Company’s social media channels
  • Monitor Company’s social media accounts and, leveraging our brand tone of voice, engage with our followers in a timely fashion

Who You Are

  • Experienced in working autonomously and knows how and when to manage up
  • Strong time management and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and multitask as needed.
  • Track record of successfully managing multiple events concurrently
  • Proactive, entrepreneurial, creative, self-starter
  • Comfortable interfacing with vendors and negotiating contracts for the best rate
  • Enjoys engaging in competitive research to uncover innovative ways to plan our trade show booths and virtual events
  • Solid instincts and sound judgement, especially in scenarios that require quick decision-making.
  • Accustomed to maintaining a calm, cool and collected demeanor even in the instances where plans have fallen through
  • Professionally mature and experienced in working with C-Suite Executives. Motivated to going the extra mile, especially if it will lead to a flawless event.
  • Highly organized, high sense of urgency and results oriented

What We Would Like To See

  • Bachelors Degree
  • 4-5 years of experience in a relevant event planning/social media role
  • Proven administrative, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment
  • Strong negotiation, project, and time management skills.
  • Copywriting and editing experience a plus.
