Job Description:

Rackspace is looking for an innovative Events Planner to join our team.  As an Events Planner, you will provide logistical support, project management and execution for events targeting IT influencers & IT decision makers. Work closely with internal stakeholders to offer input surrounding event goals, content, and promotion strategy, oversees budget, and coordinates all event logistics.  Utilize exceptional project management skills and exercises excellence judgement in budget management. Collaborate with Creative Services, Product, Demand, Public Relations, Analyst Relations and coordinate with executive admins to suggest SLT attendance. Job Complexity:

  • Ability to frequently represent Rackspace, to the outside market through, face-to-face interactions with customers, prospects, partners, and media.
  • Responsible for medium trade-show execution from kiosk booth space up to 10X20 booth space
  • Events are aligned to Rackspace non-strategic partner events, sales enablement events (kick-offs) and customer sponsorship requests (example: Liberations 2018, hosted by Medecision)
  • Expected to be on the expo floor for the duration of the event
  • Responsible for ancillary event set-up that is tied to your trade-show. IE: Dinner or Influencer Event
  • Oversees a yearly event budget, not exceeding $500k
  • Develops day-of event show operations schedule to include all Racker staffing needs
  • Interfaces with existing Rackspace customers and partners
  • Monitors set MDF allocation per each event according to protocols set by each partner
  • Execution of pre & post event communications

In this role you will:

             1. Owns:

    • Adherence to internal & vendor SLAs / completion of event deadlines and deliverables
    • Execution of booth set-up & ensures Rackspace is ‘show-ready’ by opening of event
    • Positive feedback from internal stakeholders (post-event survey)
    • Maintains internal event wiki page for your individual events and internal comms strategy
    • Event budget
    • Goal attainment for lead generation, on-site meetings and booth scans at each event
    • MDF spend per each event, if applicable
    • Savings reallocations
    1. Monitors:
    • ROI for each event
    • Racker registration & attendance per event
    • Promotion of case study’s and customer participation at each event
    • Genesis account penetration / Genesis contacts attending events (shared metric @ org level)
    • Pipeline touched by the event (shared with Field/Sales)
    • Media and Analyst Activity & Impressions for each event

Basic Required Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • 2 years of relevant exprience in event marketing or project management.
  • Budget management experience preferred
  • Travel:Approximately 30-35% domestic, some nights and weekends
