Job Description:

We are a women’s empowerment organization that provides employment readiness and workforce development programming to help women become financially stable, in Washington, D.C.. We are looking for an Event Planner/Fundraiser to secure sponsorships and execute the anniversary celebration in September 2023. The candidate will be responsible for managing key project deliverables to ensure a successful fundraising event, and the coordination and completion of projects on time, within budget (both revenue and expenses), and within scope. The candidate will be responsible for helping to secure sponsors. The ideal candidate has excellent communication skills, both internally and externally, the ability to develop and track budgets, and solid organizational skills.

Core Responsibilities

  • Ensure that the event is delivered on time, within scope, and within budget
  • Develop and execute a strategy for securing sponsors for the event
  • Assist in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility
  • Act as a communication lead by scheduling and participating in meetings, and ensuring deliverables are met
  • Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule, and project costs using appropriate verification techniques
  • Meet with clients to take detailed ordering briefs and clarify specific requirements of the event
  • Track project performance, specifically to analyze the successful completion of goals and any deadlines that are required for success
  • Meet budgetary objectives and make adjustments to project constraints based on financial analysis

Qualifications/Skills

  • Proven experience as an event planner/fundraiser
  • Bachelor’s Degree in appropriate field of study or equivalent work experience
  • Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills
  • Ability to develop, execute and communicate a plan
  • Ability to manage multiple moving pieces and problem solve
  • Familiarity or experience with Microsoft Office products
