Job Description:
Competitive Gaming is an exciting and burgeoning space within the landscape of gaming. As one of the leaders of the gaming industry, Our client is focused on the esports business both regionally as a part of the strategic outlook on the future of gaming. The Associate Operations Manager will be a key member of this initiative, heavily responsible for program design and execution, with the opportunity to contribute to the overall tournament operation strategy. This position will focus on managing the end-to-end operations across the Tournaments portfolio with a focus on sports titles, especially MLB The Show. This will include the ideation, organization of timing and publication for tournaments, ensuring partner approvals, maintaining prizing inventories and the distribution of such prizing, and communicating on the health of tournament programs and support.
Responsibilities:
- Manage sports title portfolio, primarily MLB The Show, including tournament program design and execution
- Own and maintain a calendar of tournament operations for internal and external use
- Own and maintain prizing inventory and distribution database
- Responsible for day-to-day scheduling and form, fit, function of tournaments
- Responsible for obtaining, driving approval process, and delivering program assets and tournament rulesets
- Regular QA and auditing of live tournaments and programs to ensure quality and accuracy
- Consolidate information within project management tool on a regular basis
- Collaborate cross functionally with a variety of internal and external collaborators
- Communicate across a global team, providing frequent status updates
- Provide feedback and insight on ways to implement continuous improvement of operations and processes
- Collect and distribute participant sentiment and feedback
Qualifications:
- Knowledge of the competitive gaming landscape
- Exceptional problem-solving skills with an emphasis on creative and innovative thinking
- Excellent professional written and verbal communication skills across multiple mediums and audiences
- Proven experience in brainstorming and conceptualizing unique approaches to tasks and challenges
- Strong organizational skills with an acute attention to detail
- Ability to adapt and evolve ideas based on feedback, while maintaining a creative vision
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
Preferred:
- Knowledge of sports game franchises (MLB The Show, EA Sports FC, NBA 2K and others) and their corresponding professional and esports leagues
