The Event Marketing Manager works with the Enterprise Event Marketing team to support the elements of SAP Concur’s enterprise event strategy and overall marketing plan, including, but not limited to the in- person industry event strategy and virtual event strategy. This role will manage key work streams and/or entire events both live and virtual end-to-end including: research on relevant industry associations for key market units, exhibit logistics, sponsorship negotiation, securing opportunities, budget, event timelines, event measurement, development of virtual events and strategy aligning and complimenting in-person event strategy. The ideal candidate will be experienced in expo management and logistics, virtual event development and management as well as managing year-long cycles of planning and working within cross-functional teams. This role reports to the Director, Event and Demand Gen Marketing.


  • Execute SAP Concur’s outlined Industry/3rd party event strategy to support company and business unit priorities
  • Communicate with all stakeholders and drive deadlines for deliverables associated with events while supporting event team’s goals and objectives
  • Research and recommend new event opportunities that meet company and business unit objectives
  • Manage Enterprise Americas Industry/3rd party events across multiple market units
  • Develop event strategy and identify program commitments that generate pipeline and revenue with a key focus on ROI
  • Lead a cross-functional work stream working with internal partner’s teams and business units to identify market opportunity and subsequent sales cycle/tracking
  • Provide reporting and updates to leadership team on current pipeline & revenue goals and all KPI’s
  • Work cross functionally with key marketing stakeholders to ensure successful planning and execution of all event programs. Ensure the programs deliver measurable results, remain with in budget, meet or exceed program goals and exemplify the SAP Concur brand
  • Define and manage detailed event processed for events i.e. timelines, venues, suppliers, contracts, staffing, budget
  • Communicate with all stakeholders, driving deadlines for deliverables for all events while supporting ENT Event Marketing Team goals and objectives
  • Implement best practices and standardized project management process to drive all events to success
  • Introduce and encourage new ideas that continually evolve the experience for our event attendees

Education, Experience & Training Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing or equivalent
  • Minimum 5-6 years’ experience in Industry trade show/3rd party event management and execution
  • Previous Marketing or Communications experience is a plus
  • Ability to coordinate a number of activities with multiple components requiring independent follow through and attention to detail
  • Comfortable in a fast paced, multi-task environment with quick turnaround and high demand
  • Organizational skills and high level of attention to detail
  • Ability to maintain a view of overall business situation when making decisions and setting process
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office. Knowledge of Marketo, Tableau, Smartsheet and ON24 a plus
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Budget development and management skills required
  • Ability to travel to key event programs
