Job Description:

The North America MEP Events Manager is key to Trimble’s success and requires a highly organized, creative, detail-oriented, and motivated person to serve as lead for planning, management, and execution of live face-to-face events, virtual events, and webinars.

The Trimble North America MEP Events Manager must be able to partner with other Trimble business units and Corporate Marketing to plan, coordinate, and execute on integrated large-scale conferences, tradeshows, Sales Kick Offs (SKO), and regional roadshows across North America and Canada. Additionally, the North America MEP Events Manager will partner with Product Marketing to plan, manage, promote, and execute webinars. It is imperative that the North America MEP Events Manager anticipates project needs, discerns work priorities, and meets budget constraints and deadlines. This individual must have a passion for special event management, provide outstanding communication to our Trimble staff, vendors, and overall Trimble community, be an enthusiastic professional, and be capable of building strong and positive relationships with partners and vendors.

Responsibilities:

  • Determine theme, key messages, objectives, and success metrics as guiding principles for North American MEP events.
  • Contribute to the strategy and manage the planning for cross-sector events.
  • Develop and recommend the budget, marketing plans, and objectives and manage those within approved plans.
  • Manage events as a campaign rather than a single event – set a communication plan, design plan, key messages, and strategies.
  • Write and review promotional communications to promote events (registration landing pages, email, advertisements, etc.).
  • Manage event swag, signage, booth environments, gifts, and other inventory. Work closely with third-party vendor(s) to ensure supplies are in stock and on budget.
  • Formulate measurement practices and success metrics for each event type (ROI, awareness/reach, lead generation, etc.); assist with lead flow and reporting with sector divisions.
  • Facilitate and manage collaboration across business sectors to continue a business culture of sharing and leveraging best practices.

  • Experience influencing team members who are not direct reports; especially members that are dispersed geographically
  • Comfortable working with multiple Trimble sectors as both a partner and peer
  • Experience managing agencies, freelancers, and/or contractor talent
  • Resourceful and not afraid to ask the right questions to uncover big ideas
  • Expert at keeping projects on time, and on budget, with reliable deliverability
  • Strong communication, writing, and editorial skills

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of proven experience managing complex events; both in-person and virtual
  • Experience working with teams that are dispersed geographically
  • Experience managing large-scale events from beginning to end
  • Experience managing budgets and contracts independently
  • Expert at keeping projects on time with reliable deliverability
  • Travel to investigate event venues and manage in-person events (≥ 25% travel expected post pandemic)

Preferred Skills:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, similar field, or equivalent experience
  • Experience managing agencies, freelancers, and/or contractor talent
  • Experience with marketing automation (Marketo preferred)
  • Google Workspace (Sheets, Slides, Drive, Docs)
