Our client Alibaba is looking for a contract Event Operations Manager located in New York City, NY

We are looking for an energetic, creative, entrepreneurial, and data-driven professional to execute our marketing strategy and operations for these tradeshows as they grow.

You will be responsible for supporting all aspects of tradeshow communications and operations including acquisition of exhibitor and attendee registrations, ongoing external communications, and event operations. This is an exciting opportunity to develop a new initiative from scratch to help US businesses during this crisis.

-Review and analyze buyer and seller registrations for event
-Identify and secure existing and new sellers/exhibitors for each event
-Manage and execute all external communications with sellers and buyers pre and post event
-Manage all aspects of virtual event technology and operations
-Work closely with Alibaba.com business units, including marketing, sales, operations, business development, external communications, and product teams
-Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion
-Track project milestones and deliverables within time limits
-Participate in the project post mortems and help in the creation of a recommendations report in order to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements
-Analyze registration and survey data and produce insights
-Provide clear, well-written periodic reports for postmortem presentations to upper management
-Be a brand ambassador of Alibaba.com and Alibaba Group by representing the company in front of external partners, vendors and customers

-Bachelors Degree
-3+ years of work experience in event marketing or project management or account management experience on virtual events a plus
-Experience with Hubspot or other CRM tools a plus
-Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office (PPT & Excel)
-Ability to work independently, multi-task, and prioritize while meeting aggressive deadlines for multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
-Must demonstrate positive energy and enthusiasm regarding collaborative work with Sales, Marketing, Business Development, Creative and Product teams
-Must be willing to be a hands-on team member who demonstrates initiative to roll-up their sleeves and get the job done
-Superb time management and communication skills, both verbal and written
-Able to conduct market research, gather information and present data
-Quick learner and problem solver
