Your Challenge

The event manager will spearhead Cayuse’s event strategy. This includes participation in trade shows, planning and hosting in person and virtual industry events. They will work closely with marketing leadership to determine key events, handle attendance from start-to-finish (registration, attendance, etc.), and prove return on investment (ROI).

Your Responsibilities

  • Manage the Cayuse event and tradeshow strategy, including but not limited to: identifying key events, maintain pre- and post-show communication, event attendance and reporting
  • Manage Cayuse’s participation at around 20-30 (in-person/virtual) trade shows and events
  • Help manage annual Connect Customer conference, lasting 2-3 days in length
  • Logistical planning of internal company events including annual company kickoff event
  • Manage all aspects of event budgeting, including working with accounting and finance teams to validate vendor invoices, monitor payments, and maintain event costs in the marketing budget
  • Create and track master task schedule including the timeline of activities for each event
  • For some events, be onsite and manage the various aspects of the event, including troubleshooting
  • Manage the technical aspects of virtual events, including creating the Run of Show, leading technical pre-show run throughs, communicating directly with event platform engineers, and serving as the day-of event producer
  • Maintain a record of the event attendance numbers and collect feedback from attending employees for future participation and improvements
  • Efficiently manage the Event Request for Proposal (RFP) process, evaluate vendors, conduct site visits, negotiate terms and award contracts
  • Supervise and manage the activities of event vendors and contractors including venues, caterers, entertainment, speakers, audio visual specialists, giveaway vendors and other vendors involved in a particular event
  • Negotiate and maintain strategic partnerships with industry associations who hold events
  • Assist with event marketing related materials such as invitations, flyers, signage, company description, presentation descriptions, overview sheets, ads, etc
  • Manage the event marketing metrics (trip reports, relevant spreadsheets and marketing automation solution)

Your Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s in marketing or related discipline
  • 3+ years of related marketing experience, ideally in event marketing, demand generation, or sales enablement
  • Proven experience carrying out event marketing efforts, including trade show planning, attendance, and reporting
  • Experience partnering with an enterprise sales team
  • Highly organized with an ability to manage resources, budgets, and onsite personnel
  • Strong communication skills – written and oral
  • Capacity to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Highly organized, detail oriented and proficient at managing multiple projects at a time
  • ROI and metric driven, with the ability to draw insight from marketing data
  • Reside in or near Portland, OR
