Within the Marketing team, the Event Marketing Manager will be responsible for the planning and execution of a variety of in-person marketing programs, including trade shows, events and industry conferences hosted by Appian as well as third party vendors.

  • Targeting candidates in the DMV area who are comfortable coming into the office on a flexible, hybrid schedule.

To Be Successful In This Role, You Need To

  • Have direct experience in planning and executing both small and large-scale events and trade shows
  • Be able to execute all program and event elements, including:
    • Securing exhibit space
    • Working with the exhibit house on trade show booth coordination and shipping
    • Placing show orders and services
    • Booth layout and design
  • Be able to collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders across the organization for input to help develop, promote, and execute event messaging and partnership opportunities
  • Be able to measure results on all programs and communicate findings back to key stakeholders
  • Demonstrate program management skills including the ability to adapt to evolving priorities and manage a wide variety of programs at one time
  • Demonstrate strong budget management, logistics, and organizational skills

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum 2-4 years of experience planning and executing trade shows, events and industry conferences preferably at an enterprise software organization
  • Have outstanding interpersonal skills. The ideal candidate will be decisive, action-oriented, and be able to motivate, inspire, and lead cross teams to leverage resources effectively
  • Must be detail-oriented and well-organized across all projects with an ability to execute project plans in a timely manner and within budget
  • Be a strategic thinker with the ability to clearly articulate and implement a focused plan
  • Experience working across multiple teams collaboratively and effectively
  • Have strong verbal, written communication, and presentation skills
  • High degree of computer literacy and proficient in Google suite
  • Experience with Cvent Event Management Software & Salesforce
  • Be able to travel up to 35% domestically and internationally as needed
