Job Description:

We are seeking an enthusiastic, self-directed, data-driven Event Manager to plan and manage the execution of digital, in-person and hybrid internal events for the Reality Labs Redmond campus. Success in this role requires the ability to define an events strategy, set goals, provide excellent project management skills, establish a deep and current knowledge of virtual event platforms, maintain a keen eye for compelling and innovative content, and possess a passion for continuous improvement. This person will need to have an entrepreneurial nature to try new and different things with minimal direction. Overall, this role will be challenged to propose and execute new ideas, create a sense of community and establish best practices.

Event Manager Responsibilities:

  • Lead overall event program management experience for Redmond employees (concept, implementation, timelines & execution)
  • Manage end-to-end planning and execution of in-person, virtual and hybrid events for the Reality Labs Redmond campus, including strategic planning, event marketing, budget, logistics, communications, event tech, gifting, onsite execution, playbooks, analytics/ROI
  • Serve as the day-to-day contact for Reality Labs Redmond campus event, including leading communication and integration between teams
  • Own Redmond event calendar and develop event plans that achieve Site Team shared goals
  • Own event processes and communication mechanisms
  • Deliver best practice documents and process improvement documents
  • Define event metrics to ensure objectives, strategies, requirements, and budget are met
  • Develop and drive event planning milestones and ongoing project management schedule
  • Schedule and lead internal planning meetings as appropriate and provide feedback and periodic reports to stakeholders/leadership
  • Manage on-going communication, relationships and development with appropriate vendor partners, event organizers and internal teams
  • Organize onsite activations and manage all relevant event details such as catering, entertainment, transportation, location, equipment, etc.
  • Solicit internal and external feedback and manage event program “post-mortem” evaluations to ensure learning’s, results, ROI, and areas for improvement are effectively captured
  • Coordinate bi-annual Symposium Demo Day, including scheduling, team placement, broad communication and working closely with cross-functional partners
  • Align with procurement/finance on event budgets and PO process, ensure vendors are properly onboarded following Meta policy
  • Ability to travel domestically and work across different time zones

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree
  • 5+ years of professional event industry experience
  • Experience using data and metrics to measure event impact and determine improvements and present results to senior leadership
  • Capable of directly owning and managing all elements of an event from conception to measurement, including but not limited to, strategy, project management, vendor negotiation and management, production, event registration, data gathering/reporting, evaluations, cross-functional partnering
  • Attention to detail and proven experience to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously, creating a sense of urgency in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Experience working in an ambiguous environment and can independently remove blockers and make decisions autonomously

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience managing virtual events
  • Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) degree/certification
