Job Description:

We are looking for an Event Director of our Teamwear and Sports Apparel Division, who typically involves overseeing the planning, coordination, and execution of merchandising activities related to specific events or promotions within an organization. Must be product knowledgeable in teamwear and sports apparel in order to merchandise it at events.


  • Provide a best-in-class experience for event guests from start to finish (booking events to final debrief)
  • Create and send annual RFPs for all conference vendors as well as any additional venues/vendors needed throughout the year
  • Negotiate site contracts, special venue contracts, AV rental, food and beverage costs, and speaker rates
  • Facilitate booking of event vendors
  • Recruit, contract, and schedule all speakers that may be needed for the event.
  • Produce scripts for events and work with outside vendors
  • Create and manage event budgets
  • Create and secure sponsorships for various events
  • Work with marketing team to create a comprehensive marketing plan for each event
  • Create post-event surveys to evaluate the planning, execution, and content of events
  • Complete comprehensive event recaps based on staff feedback, attendee feedback, and personal experience to improve the attendee experience
  • Schedule, staff, coordinate, and run non-sporting events including, social events, team building events, corporate conferences, etc.
  • Lead all on site events locally and domestically, prioritizing interacting with and assisting guests as needed
  • Ensure all event details are executed as planned and tracked with detail – invoicing, payments, supplies, insurance, special requests, etc.
  • Communicate clearly and timely with staff and clients to ensure proper setup, staffing, coordination of activities, and cleanup all events
  • Adhere to event processes, procedures, curriculum, and standard
  • Be knowledgeable in event packages and programs, support event marketing initiatives
  • Coordinate with the management to ensure accurate budget tracking
  • Assist in new business generation by driving organic growth with current event partners
  • Leverage expertise, creativity and industry research to recommend new ways to iterate and improve events year over year and develop marketing concepts
  • Coordinate with vendors and frequently vet/re-vet new and existing partnerships
  • Optimize space to meet staffing, operational ease, and revenue maximization
  • Complete additional task as assigned by management

Skills And Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree: in fields such as marketing, merchandising, business administration, or a related field. A strong foundation in business principles, marketing strategies, and planning operations is essential.
  • Specialized Certifications and Experience: Obtaining relevant certifications in areas such as merchandising, event planning, retail management, or project management can demonstrate expertise and commitment to professional development. Certifications from organizations the Project Management Institute (PMI) may be valuable. 3 to 5 Years of Experience in this field is a must.
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential for effectively conveying merchandising plans, collaborating with cross-functional teams, building relationships with vendors, suppliers, and partners.
  • Project Management: Proficiency in project management techniques and tools to effectively plan, organize, and coordinate merchandising activities, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and according to specifications.
