About the Role

The Director of Strategy and Orchestration for Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) events is accountable for Corporate global event and conference programming as aligned to Oracle’s ERP organization. Events include digital and in-person programs, ranging from 20-minute global digital announcements to conferences with multiple keynotes, hundreds of sessions, interstitial experiences, and more. Supported by the broader GET, this role is responsible for leading delivery of these events across the ERP, Enterprise Performance Management (EPM), and Supply Chain Management (SCM) portfolio, aligning each experience to the objectives of our marketing and development partners, and overseeing both event design and execution throughout the event lifecycle. This role requires both event production and broader marketing expertise to successfully collaborate with leaders across audience acquisition and content strategy, product, field and digital marketing and communications, operations and production, Oracle Studios, and others inside and outside the GET. This position can be based anywhere in the United States or Canada and will require some domestic and international travel (up to 25% of the time).

About You

You are a methodical, highly-organized, forward-looking, inclusive event marketing leader with significant experience working in tech. You are passionate about tech content, and understand the cloud computing industry, including trends, challenges, and opportunities. You may have an IT or developer background, and a deep understanding of how tech and business professionals prefer to learn. Ideally, you have 15+ years of experience in delivering events for major brands, with more recent experience lifting those programs into the digital and/or hybrid space.

You have outstanding communication skills, executive presence, and evolved emotional intelligence. You’re able to balance a rigorous approach to process development and execution with ever-evolving business requirements. You operate best in a collaborative environment in a large virtual team, driving success through empathy and leadership.

You have great organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills, operating effectively with opposing priorities, amidst ambitious deadlines and personalities. You are an effective presenter, and a great listener, with a gift for balancing business and customer priorities. You have experience working with agency personnel and a familiarity with collaboration and efficiency tools.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership, alignment, conflict resolution in strategic event program design
  • Lead product/field marketing, development in crafting customer-centric experiences
  • Develop and own processes to effectively lead from strategy to execution
  • Be a customer advocate, ensuring their needs and expectations are heard and met
  • Manage external vendor resources taking accountability for their performance
  • Foster an environment of accountability, collaboration, inclusion, and innovation

Skills & Qualifications

  • Confirmed event marketing expertise within the cloud business applications industry.
  • Experience leading a distributed team, from the executive suite to entry-level resources.
  • Willingness to take calculated risks, while driving consensus across lines of business.

  • Outstanding written and verbal English communication skills.
  • Ability to present confidently and concisely to executive audiences.
