Job Description:

Navistar has a great opportunity for a Director of Experiential / Events Marketing. The Director of Experiential / Events Marketing is responsible for design and execution of experiential marketing that demonstrates our strength in the commercial vehicle industry while also strengthening our relationships with key stakeholders to further build confidence and loyalty with our brands.

This role will span setting the vision for experiential marketing, strategies for each experiential engagement and oversee full execution which includes but is not limited to: Trade Shows, Produced Dealer Briefings and Sales and Dealer Incentive Engagements.

This highly visible position will report to a Vice President of Marketing and will be required to collaborate across functions including a peer position responsible for VIP Brand Experience, Sales, Engineering, Business Operations, Accounting and other Marketing stakeholders to drive success.

Responsibilities Will Include But Are Not Limited To

  • Aligning with Marketing Leadership to develop experiential strategies that support business needs. Executions are typically but not limited to: trade shows, dealer briefings, dealer and sales incentive engagements.
  • Scope experiential program requirements, resource needs, budget and delivery timeframes.
  • Management of experiential agency partners while also contributing to selection of subcontractors which could include but not limited to live production vendors.
  • Seasoned in hotel contract review and negotiations/negotiation strategies.
  • Manage overall trade show, dealer briefings, sales incentive needs and day-to-day operations.
  • Mentor and coach a team of high potential experiential professionals.
  • Collaboration with Marketing peers to build engaging experiences that drive desired behavior.
  • Implement new experiential marketing approaches that foster deeper customer engagement, awareness and education on our product and service offerings that leaves a meaningful and favorable impression with key stakeholders.
  • Maximize utilization and adoption of tools using latest technology in experiential marketing.
  • Serve as experiential subject matter expert within the trade show and live production space.
  • Develop experiential objectives and post experience measurement on objectives.
  • Post-event deep dives to glean key learnings to apply to future events.

Basic Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • At least 10 years of event planning experience
  • At least 4 years of management experience

OR

  • Master’s degree
  • At least 8 years of event planning experience
  • At least 4 years of management experience

OR

  • At least 12 years of event planning experience
  • At least 4 years of management experience

Additional Requirements

  • Qualified candidates, excluding current Navistar employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States. Desired Skills

  • 10+ years of experience in experiential marketing, marketing, or related experience, preferably in B2B
  • 3+ years experiential management experience leading a team and/or agencies
  • Project management with multiple stakeholder groups
  • Seasoned in hotel contract review and negotiations/negotiation strategies
  • Experience in the selection of agencies and third-party vendors
  • Knowledgeable in live production; keynotes, main stage addresses, press conference, live product launches
  • Management of project budget and resource allocation to support success and efficiency
  • Strong organizational and management skills, including the ability to prioritize multiple projects, programs and objectives
  • Demonstrated skills in messaging and positioning offerings, ability to listen and interpret needs
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills; strong presentation skills
  • Strong business acumen, financial analysis, and the ability to translate quantitative data into actionable recommendations
  • Highly collaborative, able to work in a matrixed environment and with senior leaders
  • Willingness to roll up your sleeves when administrative and tactical needs arise.
  • Self-motivated and strategic with the ability to take initiative and drive consensus when needed
