Job Description:

The Director of Event Marketing, Global Sponsorships is a senior event marketing leader who will own and manage our global sponsored program of 100+ events supporting Datadog’s growth and business initiatives.

The Director will build a global events program to drive new leads and support the sales team to capitalize on the $38+ billion market opportunity Datadog seeks to capture. The Director will be responsible for implementing a global strategy, building international teams and ensuring the successful execution of all industry events world-wide to increase brand awareness and influence pipeline.

This is a rare opportunity to join a world-class event marketing team in hyper growth mode (Datadog has grown headcount 40%+ YoY and revenue 70%+ YoY in 2021), while playing a lead role in scaling our sponsorship program to the next level.

You Will:

  • Create and manage overall program strategy, vision and plan for executing 100+ events all over the world
  • Build and manage the global team responsible for developing, driving and executing effective high-quality marketing programs to generate leads and create buzz at top industry events
  • Recruit, train, and manage a team across diverse cultures and time zones
  • Manage and oversee team responsible for large-scale custom booth build outs and create new lead gen initiatives across various interactive formats
  • Streamline existing processes and create new procedures, trainings, programs and documentation
  • Oversee the team responsible for global event operations including vendors, tools, staffing, swag and supplies
  • Work collaboratively and cross-functionally across the business (liaising with other department leaders from Demand Gen, Marketing Ops, Design, Video, Sales, Engineering, Legal and Procurement) to ensure alignment on initiatives, processes, approvals and business goals
  • Determine sponsorship programs, prep/manage forecasts/budgets, track results, help conduct post-event wrap and analysis, and report ROI to leadership
  • Oversee campaign and pipeline management in Salesforce; leverage analytics and data to capture and optimize lead gen opportunities
  • Establish priorities, manage timelines and large budgets for multiple projects, ensuring appropriate and cost-effective use of resources

You Are:

  • Experienced in 8+ years of event marketing at fast-growing companies with a Bachelor’s degree
  • A strong leader with 5+ years of experience in people management and success in building, developing and mentoring high performing teams
  • Experienced leading a business line and delivering on or exceeding business goals
  • Metrics driven with demonstrated analytical skills and the ability to think/work strategically and tactically
  • Highly organized, detail oriented and can successfully manage and execute multiple projects simultaneously while overcoming challenges and meeting deadlines
  • Exceptional at solving complex problems and thinking creatively
  • Confident in your interpersonal skills, a clear and thoughtful communicator with the ability to work well in a cross-functional environment and build relationships
  • Comfortable driving a process with multiple stakeholders and leading meetings with executive leadership
  • International programming experience is a plus
  • Able to travel (~50%) when travel resumes
