Job Description:
Visa’s Commercial and Money Movement Solutions (CMS) organization is seeking a highly motivated Senior Director to lead, drive, and execute key global events. The CMS Events Senior Director will be a pivotal role in the Commercial Operations team to successfully transform CMS’s global vision and strategy into best on class global event engagements with our clients and partners. This role will partner closely with our global marketing, sales, and communication teams to deliver the best experience to our clients, partners, and internal stakeholders.
Responsibilities include:
- Bring CMS’ strategy, thought leadership, brand and product messages to our customers and partners through best in class event programs with measurable and proven impact
- Lead and coordinate CMS event strategy and plans for in-person, virtual, and hybrid events
- Drive innovative end-to-end event experiences and programs on a global scale building relationships with cross-functional teams including communication, sales, marketing teams, and product teams
- Lead and mange team to deliver CMS strategic events including strategy, concept, vision, event logistics, budgeting, execution, etc.
- Project manage events end to end including developing timelines, detailed project plans, act as the single source of truth for all CMS team members throughout the lifecycle of each event and supporting project(s)
- On-site event execution including registration management, administration of event technology platforms, culinary, product showcase, theme parties, print / signage and all logistics
- Trade show sponsorship management including speaking engagements, booth and experience design
- Identify and manage relationships with vendors, industry leaders, and suppliers to support event activation
- Manage CMS event team to execute internal and external programs
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
- 10 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 8 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters/ MBA/JD/MD) or at least 3 years of work experience with a PhD
Preferred Qualifications:
- 12 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 8-10 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 6+ years of work experience with a PhD
- 9+ years of experience in Event Marketing, communications, public relations, marketing, or related discipline
- Experience in payments, fintech, financial services, or another relevant area strongly preferred.
- Proven and global experience in event marketing processes and principles and direct event management experience leading large corporate events / tradeshows of 1000 attendees and 4M budgets, sponsorship programs and internal employee events
- Experience with globally delivered programs and/or working with global and regional teams across marketing, communications, and sales organizations
- Ability to partner with and manage a variety of agencies and software systems
- On-site event execution including registration management, administration of event technology platforms, culinary, product showcase, theme parties, print / signage and all logistics
- Trade show sponsorship management including speaking engagements, booth and experience design
- Experience managing a team under your supervision and guidance, with proven leadership and mentorship
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong negotiation skills to close sales with a wide range of budgets
- Knowledge of virtual event platforms such as Cvent, On24, Eventfinity and virtual meetings using
MS Teams and/or WebEx
Travel Requirements:
This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.
Mental/Physical Requirements:
This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.
Salary Range:
The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 176,900.00 to 230,000.00 USD, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable).
