The Corporate Events team is seeking an outstanding and enthusiastic Event Marketing Manager to produce tradeshow brand experiences from conception to completion. As an events pro, you are a thorough, analytical and technically-capable marketing professional who can work cross-functionally in the development and management of event programs. This person understands how to build interactive event experiences that lead to increased customer investment with Elastic. The ideal candidate will be responsible for leading all event marketing plans, logistics, project management, marketing communications and ancillary events for a series of high-profile, third-party events throughout the year. You will be an expert event marketer with a proven understanding of inventive thinking, measurement methodologies, and modern marketing principles. You work well within limits to plan, resource, and deliver the events. You will forge strong relationships to build consensus, drive leadership, contribute to strategy and ensure success and excellence in execution.

Job Responsibilities

  • See the “big picture” and meet business objectives in all stages of planning, design, and production.
  • Plan all sponsorship aspects of a diverse group of global tradeshows.
  • Expertly drive pre-event weekly meetings, including presentation and agenda development.
  • Other responsibilities to include, but are not limited to: pre-event discovery and planning, event flow, booth design and messaging, speaker session content, client meeting coordination, promotion and communications, printing and shipping, budget management, travel arrangements, staffing, social media engagement,and post-event survey and reporting.
  • Lead onsite presence which could include ensuring proper set-up and signage, registration coordination, AV testing, speaker and meeting management, staff enablement and training, collateral and swag distribution, structure break-down, and problem-solving disruptions.
  • Manage event procurement process including purchase orders and contracts, processing of payments, accurate record keeping and expense analysis. Complete all post-event financials.
  • Conduct market research, gather information, identify new opportunities, and generate brand interest. Articulate new insights to improve services and event quality.
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal and problem solving skills.
  • Manage difficult or complex situations and/or people with tact, confidence and composure.
  • Manage relationships with third-party logistics company handling overall execution.
  • Understand the complex needs of different events and diverse expectations of stakeholders. Present ideas and coordination to leadership and company with outstanding oral and written communication skills.
  • Manage event calendar, project timelines, and event budget. Be attentive to the value of staying under budget. Anticipate and plan for disruptions. Ability to delegate where needed.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams including regional marketing, sales, engineering, management, and developer advocates to achieve business goals.

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of relevant work experience in event marketing.
  • Experience in marketing B2B technology products or services preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, communications, or relevant field of study.
  • Demonstrated success in event management and project management.
  • Sales skills and an interest in building pipeline demand.
  • Comfortable working independently and autonomously.
  • Willing to travel up to 50% of the time and work occasional nights and weekends to support events.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
