Cvent’s Consulting team works with key customers to modernize and optimize event marketing and management processes and systems. We collaborate with leaders and key stakeholders from Marketing, Meetings & Events, IT, and Procurement supporting strategy, planning, technology evaluation, integrations, and analytics. We are currently looking for Cvent Platform Expert to serve as the technical lead in our consulting engagements with strategic customers.

About the Team

Cvent Consulting delivers a variety of projects to help customers modernize and optimize event marketing and management processes. We collaborate with clients through assessments, workshops, pilot programs as well as large-scale platform implementations. Project teams are composed of SMEs and functional experts from a variety of events and marketing disciplines. Most projects have an Engagement Lead or project manager that coordinates all project activities and deliverables. The Cvent Platform Expert is a part of a project team with ultimate accountability to ensure clients are extracting the most value out of their Cvent investment. You will be assigned to a small number of customer engagements to represent Cvent’s overall platform capabilities. You will forge trusted relationships with leaders and stakeholders withing key strategic customers to drive focus on event program objectives, optimize program delivery, and ensure accountability as a trusted partner.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Translate business objectives into execution strategy for Cvent platform solutions
  • Help customers achieve business goals and outcomes by providing timely, proactive recommendations that will benefits customers’ ongoing usage of the Cvent platform
  • Identify areas of opportunity in advancing key business process supported by the Cvent platform
  • Develop a deep technical understanding of the customer’s current Cvent implementation and envision ways to deepen the impact of the Cvent platform
  • Define the requirements for new implementations as well as opportunities to improve current implementations with an “ecosystem” approach and mindset
  • Work within the project Consulting team to take ownership and accountability of implementation planning for the Cvent platform, accelerators and templates, integrations and APIs
  • Define implementation project success criteria and identify areas of risk for implementation projects
  • Supervise the execution of an implementation plan working with cross-functional teams
  • Utilize tools and agile mindset to create a collaborative environment for project success
  • Assess ongoing project health and progress to inform decision making
  • Anticipate and aggressively remove obstacles that slow down or prevent a successful implementation initiative
  • Support ongoing project communications including executive level summaries and status reports both internally and to the customer
  • Proactively liase with Cvent Technology and Product teams, Technical Support Teams, Learning and Development, and other teams to address product feature/technical hurdles
  • Support UAT process both internally and to the customer
  • Develop Training and Onboarding plans to introduce new platform capabilities or enhancements
  • Supervise the execution of the Training and Onboarding plan working with cross-functional teams
  • Play a key role in Product and Technical Red Account management and resolution
  • Identify and collaborate with internal teams to ameliorate renewal risks for both license and success plans subscriptions
  • Advocate for innovation and early adoption of platform capabilities. Nominate select customer for early adopter programs
  • Demo existing unused or under-utilized Cvent capabilities/functionality
  • Travel to customer sites and be available for some after-hour or weekend coverage depending on the customer’s needs and implementation plan

Skills & Experience

  • BA/BS Degree (or equivalent)
  • Minimum of 8+ years relevant work experience in one or more of the following: Enterprise Software / SaaS, Technology Consulting, Customer Success, Technology Solutions Development, Technical and/or Solutions Architecture
  • Minimum of 5+ years of technical program management experience, with a focus in SaaS software
  • Deep technical knowledge of Cvent products and features, capabilities, leading practices for deployment and use Deep technical knowledge of Cvent products and features, capabilities, best use and how to deploy (Cvent product certifications a plus but not required)
  • Strong knowledge of business processes supported by Cvent (Planning, Budgeting and Approvals, Lead Management, Event Marketing)
  • Knowledge of the broader technology ecosystem (MAP, CRM, CDP, Expense, Payments, Travel, etc.)
  • Aptitude for both analyzing technical concepts and translating them into business terms, and for mapping business requirements into technical features
  • Familiarity with the database, application and network technologies used in Cloud Computing (e.g knowledge of network topologies and devices, database concepts and SQL, multi-tenancy)
  • Solid understanding of enterprise software deployment lifecycle; ability to adjust and apply this knowledge in a dynamic environment using agile methodologies
  • Experience in dealing with large, complex, distributed systems
  • Comfortable in dealing with IT systems that support end-to-end business processes across the customers’ value chain.
  • Solid record of taking ownership and fearlessly leading teams through ambiguity to solve problems and deliver outcomes
  • Strong organizational, communication, interpersonal, relationship building skills conducive to collaboration; able to work well in a cross-functional environment
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a history of hands-on, detail orientation
  • Ability to establish credibility and rapport with senior executives and technical and non-technical team members alike
  • Project management certification is a plus
  • Product management experience is a plus
  • Ability to travel up to 25%
