Position Summary: Category and Event Marketing Specialist

The Category and Event Marketing Specialist will play an important support function within the team. This position works closely with the Director, Vendor Partnership, and Category Marketing to assist in the execution and measurement of marketing plans designed to drive omnichannel traffic, customer acquisition, and awareness as well as vendor participation and sponsorship for the Guitar Center Brand.

Responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to the following:

  • Proofing of marketing materials/assets
  • Input/maintain campaign & tactic tickets
  • Ensure and track execution of tactics on all platforms
  • Track and report on campaign KPIs/Metrics
  • Coordination/communication with cross-functional teams
  • Maintain vendor Marketing calendar
  • Additional duties as assigned

To Join Our Band, You’ll Need The Following Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree is preferred, preferably in Communications, Marketing, Advertising, or Events
  • Valid state driver’s license and automotive insurance.
  • Ability to acquire work/travel documents (i.e., passport and visa) as required by various countries.
  • 2-4 years of relevant work experience (in addition to degree or years of previous experience).
  • Strong MS PowerPoint and MS Excel skills required
  • Organization skills, attention to detail, and ability to multi-task are a must-have
