Job Description:

Reporting to the Associate Director of Athletics of the Center for Intercollegiate Athletics the Assistant Director of Athletics for Scheduling & Event Management will provide effective operation of the Center for Intercollegiate Athletics facilities and event operations. The position is responsible for the successful coordination and daily oversight of the Event Management System (EMS) including the inputting of all practices and competitions in specific locations, as well as the management of the Center’s daily EMS functions in collaboration with the Associate Directors. This position will be responsible for maintaining accurate reservation data. This position will also assist with event oversight and all aspects of home competitions, including but not limited to set up and tear down of home events, Student Employee management, and event staff scheduling and serving as a liaison with visiting universities.

The incumbent will demonstrate exemplary ethical conduct and conformance to University, department and NCAA rules and regulations; the duties of the position are to be performed in compliance with all NCAA, League and division rules and regulations; and any rules violations on behalf of themselves or any knowledge of violations within the department are to be reported to the appropriate parties. The ideal candidate has a demonstrated track record of success. They should also have strong organizational skills and an ability to work independently.

Required Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
  • 1-3 year’s prior experience in Intercollegiate Athletics

Specialized Skills

  • Flexibility to work extended days, evenings and weekends on periodic basis required
  • Knowledge of Excel and MS Office
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail required, ability to set priorities, manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision and exercise professional judgment in carrying-out assigned responsibilities
  • Must possess excellent communication, interpersonal and customer service skills, ability to interact effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds both internal and external
  • Ability to establish, build and maintain effective working relationships based on respect, empathy and honesty with diverse groups and individual
  • Computer competence using software and enterprise systems appropriate for the complexities of the role and its functions


  • Knowledge of RIT Policies & Procedures
  • Master’s Degree
  • Knowledge of Deaf culture, American Sign Language (ASL), or willingness to learn
